Vicki and Matt Webb are one of the UK’s newest breeders of pedigree black alpacas.
Located on a stunning property near Ripley in Surrey, this husband and wife team along with their new daughter are laying the foundations of an elite black huacaya breeding programme. Their aim is to selectively breed their females to add predictability and productivity and build their herd to meet the growing demand for black stock both here in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
From the initial concept and design surrounding the formation of Yana Alpacas, Vicki and Matt wanted to base their herd on high quality proven females from a known and reliable base. This strategy would give them the very best start that is low risk and given that so many of the initial females were pregnant, it would also provide them with enough stock to rotate and sell on.
Vicki and Matt have paid a lot of attention to getting the health of the herd settled and have focused on providing optimum nutrition from which to grow their herd. Their farm has total badger proof fencing and when matched with their biosecurity plan, Yana Alpacas can provide customers confidence that they are not only buying quality stock, but healthy stock.
